Buying or Selling FAQ

What's an NFT?

An NFT stands for "Non-fungible token" and is a fancy way of saying it's a unique, one of a kind digital item that users can buy, own, and trade. Some NFTs main functions are to be digital art and look fantastic. Some offer additional utility like exclusive access to websites or participation in an event; consider it a rare piece of art that acts as a "members" card.

For more information, read ethereum.org's guide for NFTs.

What is a Digital Wallet (or MetaMask)?

A digital wallet is needed to store your ETH and purchase or mint a World of Freight NFT. Having a wallet gives you an Ethereum address (i.e. 0xABCD….1234), and this is where your NFT will be stored.

We suggest using MetaMask Wallet, which exists both as a plugin extension that lives within your web browser and as a mobile application that lives within your phone which can interact with the blockchain.

There are also other wallets that you can use to interact with the World of Freight ecosystem, including Coinbase Wallet or Rainbow Wallet. However, we recommend using the MetaMask Wallet as it is most widely used at the moment.

For more information, check getting started with MetaMask guide.

What is ETH (ether)?

ETH is a form of digital money used primarily on the Ethereum platform.

The Ethereum coin can be transferred immediately to people you know over the internet.

Ether’s primary purpose arguably extends beyond offering a form of digital money. It helps to keep the Ethereum blockchain running.

Whenever transactions are made and operations are completed on the Ethereum network, it costs a tiny fraction of ETH – also known as a gas fee. Gas fees measure precisely how much computational power any given transaction requires before it can be recorded on a blockchain network. ETH is used to pay for the gas fees when transacting on the Ethereum blockchain.

Your personal ETH Balance is shown inside your digital wallet.

For example, if you have transferred 1 ETH to your MetaMask, your ETH Balance will display 1 ETH.

Please note that you will need to use your ETH Balance to buy World of Freight vehicles.

If you haven't bought any ETH previously, check how to buy ETH guide.

Is World of Freight safe and secure?

Yes. World of Freight utilizes Smart Contracts to record vehicle ownership and will be tracked via the Ethereum blockchain and World of Freight ERC 721 non-fungible tokens. All vehicle data (transportation mode, vehicle type, stats, color, background color and other elements, including race statistics) are stored in the smart contract.

Given that all World of Freight vehicles are tokens that live within the blockchain, they can be bought or sold digitally, with a guarantee of ownership.

In other words, you are the sole owner of a digital vehicle.

Read the World of Freight's Ownership Licence for more information.

Can I purchase a vehicle using my credit card?

No, not at this moment.

However, you can easily buy ETH using your credit card, even via MetaMask Wallet.

You will also need cryptocurrency to enter paid races or upgrade your vehicles on the World of Freight ecosystem.

Here's a guide for buying ETH via MetaMask.

How do I know if I'm buying from the real World of Freight collection?

Only mint the vehicle via our Website or purchase it from the official World of Freight contract on OpenSea. This is the only method we recommend for buying or selling your World of Freight vehicles to avoid purchasing fake World of Freight vehicles.

You can identify the correct contract by checking that the contract information is the same as in our Official Links.

How long does it take to get my vehicle?

Once you mint a new vehicle via the World of Freight website or purchase one from OpenSea, it may take anywhere between five (5) minutes to two (2) hours for the vehicle to appear in your wallet. You will be given a transaction ID, which means you can check your transaction's status at any time via Etherscan.

Transactions on the blockchain can take a few minutes to process, and then it can take a few more minutes for our website to sync with the blockchain. But please do not stress! Transactions marked as successful means your vehicle belongs to you, and it will appear.

How do I find out what type of vehicle I have?

  • Head to the My Fleet section of the World of Freight site

  • Click on the vehicle to expand your vehicle's profile

  • View the details like Transportation Mode, Vehicle Type, Stats, Color, Background Color and other elements, including race statistics

You can also check your vehicle's rarity via Rarity.Tools.

I've traded with another fleet owner through Discord, but they have not upheld their side of the trade. What do I do?

Trading through Discord is done at your own risk. Also, please note that World of Freight team members will never do middleman/escrow transactions. The team recommends settling any trades ONLY on OpenSea for all World of Freight NFTs.
